Redox status and partial pressure of oxygen are significant parameters in identifying and monitoring of neoplastic changes.
Studies show that the outcome of cancer treatment depends strongly on the partial pressure of oxygen which varies with time, inside a tumour.
The ERI TM 600 is the only device that enables the mapping of oxygen levels and redox status. Our scanner is able to monitor these two parameters with a high spatial and temporal resolution. As a result, we are capable of providing you with a tool for monitoring the activity of the tumour.
It is known that redox status, as well as Reactive Oxygen Species are indicators of inflammation and of inactive parts of the brain. Another fact is that the ability to recognise the early signs of Alzheimer’s by using the ERI method has already been published.
The ERI TM 600 provides you with an unprecedented 3D map of the brain in a few seconds. As a result of being an absolutely harmless procedure, measurements can be repeated in a short period of time.
Free radicals
Free radicals are distributed throughout our body. Whilst some of them are necessary to keep us alive, there are also those that cause many serious diseases. Due to a short lifetime and low concentration of free radicals, it is difficult to monitor them effectively.
The ERI TM 600 is designed to detect and track free radicals. With the use of a technique called "spin trapping", our scanner allows you to make a complete reconstruction of those molecules.
3D spin probe mapping
The use of functional imaging is significant in the understanding of any biological processes because it is concentrated on tracking particular metabolites in a body.
The ERI TM 600 can track markers of any given biological process, much in the same way as other functional imaging methods. A significant difference is that the ERI scanner is able to perform a mapping with an unprecedented spatial-temporal resolution, with the use of stable, harmless and long-time storage spin probes.
